It snowed again, and I cut myself shaving.

The snow I understand.  It's Winter in Maine.

But how does someone who's been shaving since before rocks were invented manage to cut himself, not ONCE, not TWICE, but THREE times?

Anyway…

The day dawned bleak and chill, a moving wall of grey light out of the northeast…

Not a creature was stirring...

Couldn't even find a mouse.

The cars were tucked happily 'neath their mantle of snow…

While I Headed out to clear up the lot.

Ah! But soon it will be

SPRING!

And we will once again explore, explore, explore.

OOPS!

But I digress.  The point is,

THREE TIMES!!!

I notice your scooter photo from last year, complete with tent and sleeping pad. You never posted your ride report, yet . . .

How can you cut yourself while using an electric razor ?

    1. Bob: Sharp eyes! Very good. But you know it is very difficult to get good "on the road" pictures when there's 3-feet of snow everywhere.

I took the guard off, so I could get a closer shave. In hindsight, that may not have been the best move.
      Ciao. Mike.

  2. Thanks Mike, You made me smile and laugh. Not at the shaving mishaps, but the optimism that Spring is just around the corner for you. :) I heard you might be getting more snow. So where is the ride tomorrow if the roads are clear? ;)

As for the shaving..what bob said...how are you not in the electric razor age?

    1. Lori...
I used an electric for years, but – and I know this is strange, I enjoy the ballet of shaving: the warm, almost hot water splashed on, then soaping up the beautiful brush with finely scented, heavy-foaming soap. Brushing all that warm soap into my beard so that suddenly Chris Kringle is peering out of the mirror. Then.... swooping, sliding strokes of the razor until..... All Gone!

A cool-water wash-down followed by a splash of something nice, upon which some soothing cream....

It's much better than doing a pedestrian "morning shave"

      Until today, that is....
      Ciao. Mike.

  3. Come on spring, or at least sunshine.

Think of the surface area of your face you are shaving, then think of the surface area of legs that women have to shave. Imagine the cuts. Maybe I am just a klutz but 3 isn't so many, especially if band-aids weren't needed.

    1. Bandaids don't come in the size I needed! But you're correct; three's not so bad compared to the number I get when I shave my legs, which is why I gave that up.
      Ciao. Mike.

  4. Can't wait. From the motorcycle blogosphere, you can't deny that every one (who doesn't live in coastal regions) is eagerly awaiting the spring season. Anyway, something off topic, 4wheelonline is offering discounts on Shinko Motorcycle Tires.

    1. Everyone except those folks who live in perpetual summer…. Ahh, for love of a wife….. Puerto Rico never has snow days….
As for the tires….. if only they had my size, and in snow format, I could bleed happily at every shave.

      Ciao. Mike.
